FIRED WALK WITH ME

For those of you who wake up every day and think to yourself "My God my life isn't complete because I haven't been able to walk the picket lines with scribe-o-bloggers Craig Mazin, John August, Jane Espenson and Josh Friedman" here's your chance.

The four of us will be hitting the bricks together at Warner Bros. Gate 2/3 on the 8am-11am shift Wednesday.

I'll be the one wearing sweatpants.

Burbank? I can't do Burbank. It's too wild there for me. And besides, I'm on house arrest and only can go as far as CBS Colfax. Which, I'm here to tell you is plenty wild enough at 6am.

You should take your act on the road (and heck, maybe lead each strike location in a protest song sing-along) and hit every strike location.

You need to turn the title of this post into a picket sign. People will very likely bring you pie. And damn fine coffee.

This is as close as I'll ever get to the first comment.

First of all, welcome back.

Now, to say something germane to the actual post: Wish I could be there. I'd even buy sweatpants to show my solidarity.

I just wanted to say that Jake Hollywood is recycling his comments.

And I have to say that until I read the news on Jane Espenson's site, I didn't even know you had started posting again. I found your blog about a week after your January 1st post, and about a month and a half later, gave up on you. I figured you probably had more important things to do. Little did I know they involved ritual sacrifices to the Church of Joss, digging mass graves for thousands of bees, and searching for mold in your water infested walls and ceiling.

I would like to come there, SMACK YOU with a glove and yell "I find your lack of blog updates disturbing!", but I would probably be smacked back. And somebody would regognise my face in case I pitch that awesome pilot hiding in my drawer for the last eight years.

Bad idea.

Actually Tim W, it's a "promotional" comment. Borrowed the idea from the AMPTP (at least I can cheat myself in good conscience).

Hey Josh,

Nice meeting you today. Since I was with another blogger it was less pressure meeting you than starting up a conversation from scratch with Jane or John. I don't get nervous meeting actors, but writers I admire? Yeah, wallflower incoming.

Having lived through the longest elementary teachers' strike in the province of Ontario (which, I will remind you again, is in Canada) might I say, "Enjoy it!" Honestly, it was 2 of the best months of my life. I got to know my colleagues, drink free coffee and eat free food, and got a ton of exercise. What more could you want in life? (The fact that I've been inhaling antidepressants ever since shouldn't influence your outlook)

Good luck to you. Hope the bees and the mold are under control. Enjoy Dexter while you can.And celebrate the joys of striking.

Josh,

Glad you're back posting after the long drought. Sorry that being back in Kentucky does not allow me the pleasure of your company on the picket line. Give my regards to Craig who I haven't sparred with in years. All this reminds me when we were young firebrands (well, you were a young firebrand...I was merely a younger firebrand than now) just elected to the WGA board and we became a thorn in the side of poor Brian and all the pro-contract faction. And I kept pointing out this really cute guild lawyer who you should ask out...which you finally did and married her.

The best for the New Year from your geezer pal and admirer.

Pogue

T:TSCC

Great job, man. So fitting that you gave her back her shotgun from T2JD.

I don't know how it'll play out with the strike, but at least you rebooted the property to where it should've left off. I mean, hopefully it'll end up as more than just a moral victory; I don't mean to downplay your situation.

I'm just glad to see someone say, hey Part III, y'know what? Fuck you. This is what a companion piece looks like.

And Summer Glau is a friggin' megastar.

Josh, thanks so much for this. It really needs the full theme (I hate the no-credit sequence trend) and whoever decided to split the premiere should get kneed in the crotch, gender be damned, but overall I just loved the hell out of it.

Special credit to the director for getting it. There's a very particular aesthetic to the first 2 movies that only a fan would have a feel for.

If you don't hear from me tomorrow night, assume I didn't think ep. 2 sucked either.

Congrats on the show!

I just watched the first episode and I really liked it.

Of course, I might be a bit biased being a huge Summer Glau fan. You could have made a show called "Summer Glau reads her grocery list" and I would still watch it every week. :)

All the best,

Well my name is Thomas Chuvala and I have to say I am a fan of your new series "Sarah Connor Chronicles". I hope you are able to break the strike in your favor. The studios need to start letting money trickle down in a flood. You have the talent and a growing fan base. Keep the fight up and fight hard. I am looking for though anything thing on your series that I can keep up to date with. There is no fan site that is any good yet, sooo help them out. They will keep you growing and give you an edge against the studios. You can even use these groups then to fight for you. So if you have any info I would appreciate it(on the fan site). You can email me at thomaschuvala@yahoo.com. Or beter yet just post it on your blog.

Josh I love your blog, even if you never write in it anymore. I've just seen the first two episodes of Sarah Connors and I thought they were pretty great.

But I must ask one super geeky question: How could the bad terminator's head follow the good guys in to the future? I know it's scifi and almost anything goes, but they've been pretty specific in the Terminator universe that only organic materials can travel through time. That head seemed to be lacking in the organic materials department.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Josh, TSCC was fantastic. To be perfectly honest I had little hope for the series, but it was truly solid. I'm going to keep tuning in. Hopefully the strike will end soon (this week I hear?) and you can ramp up production again quickly.

Summer Glau kicks ass!

She looks totally fucking fine while she does it.

that is all.

Anonymous,

If that were true (organic materials only), then the Terminators would not be able to travel that way either, as they are not organic underneath their 'skin'.

There is a song that keeps ringing in my ears ferociously loud every time I look at the ratings for a particular show...'do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight, ch-cha, get down tonight ch-cha'!

Congrats JF, you and all your underlings deserve it in the midst of all this strike stress!!!

Can anyone say the name of JF's new show three times fast?

Aylara, the living tissue above the Terminator skeleton apparently fooled the time machines. But Anonymous is right - a bare metal skull shouldn't be able to go through.

Also Josh, please start referencing the Terminator model numbers. Many of us fans want to know what we're dealing with here.

Hi Josh,

Great job with your new show. It has already totally surpassed my expectations. You should be proud.

There is one element that I feel is missing from the show, though... the Terminator theme music. I know you've got the drums there, but the melody is the good part. In my opinion it's one of the top 5 movie themes ever, and I would love to see you somehow incorporate it back into the show. All in all, great work, though!

So we're all just ass-kissing into a void here, huh?

That's cool. Just stopped back in to say that naming the FBI guy "Ellison" was terribly clever on somebody's part. Don't give him a glass prosthetic hand, though, okay? Way too on-the-nose.

Oh, and the best dialogue of this entire television season and maybe last year too:

"Is that nuclear?"

"Not really."

Is this where I come to complain about random minutiae in T:TSCC that will bother approximately .00003% of the audience of that show?

More Summer Glau!

Meh. I got nothin'. 'Cept, I'm loving the show, MODEL NUMBERS (AND THEME SONGS) BE DAMNED!!!

Love,

Captain Retardo

Something I've been thinking about for a while. Every day on the news, they show footage of the striking writers walking the picket lines.

Honestly, the slogans on the signs are, well, lacking. I mean, if there ever was a group who should have great signs...

Excellent and simple Blog- I like this because it’s informative and simple nature. This is a great piece of work appreciable. Mean time an important issue is updations. I request you to update this blog when ever possible. We require most recent information and I am sure your blog can provide them.
.. Cancer is difficult and really dangerous illness that kills millions a year. If we can provide any help to save at least some of them- it is always nice Some times people are saying malignancy is incurable. But I have seen a website detailing that holistic treatment can cure Cancer even in 2ndry stage. You can logon to http://www.helpcure.com/cancer and know further.
What ever it is. My personal request to all of you to work and gather information regarding this subject and let others also know further. I can say you millions of people are still on earth suffering from cancers – some of them even doesn’t know what cancer is all about.
Whether this is holistic or allopathic or homeopathic I want to put and end to the sufferings of millions of less fortunate people – My heart sings for them. I request you people also join.
I Hope for the best
